Updated Tuesdays and Saturdays! Read the Comic! About A Ready Wit About the Author FAQ Cast Tara's LiveJournal Fan Art Links Fun stuff Contact Me |
Why update Tuesdays and Saturdays? Well, I'd love to update Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, but I do all my own penciling, inking, and coloring, y'see. That works out to about ten hours of work on each page, so I can do about a page a day- if I'm not working on anything else. Which, as soon as I go back to school this fall, will rather emphatically not be the case. But wait- were you asking why I chose those particular days? Hmf. Well, if you must know, my favorite web comic of all time, Girl Genius, updates Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Waiting forty-eight hours between comics is well-nigh unbearable, and this web comic is solely responsible for why I now hate weekends with a fiery passion. So, in the interests of filling my pale, colorless Tuesdays and Saturdays, I shall pass the time by updating Wit's End. (oh yes- if you haven't read Girl Genius- GO READ IT NOW!) Can I give you money? Of course! As soon as I figure out how to set up a pay pal tip jar... Can I buy Wit's End Swag? Not at present. Talk to me in six months or so. Do you take commissions? Heck yeah! Drop me a line. What was your inspiration for the comic? Well, it started from a rather histrionic article in Times Magazine describing an apocalypse caused by the worldwide depletion of oil resources. Much of the article was pure fiction, but it was very vividly written and the imagery it evoked stuck with me like a rather annoying mosquito. This happens whenever I have a story itching to get out, and put me off for quite awhile, because I knew, in my heart of hearts, I did not want to write a story about the end of oil. That has been done and redone a billion times and more often than not passed off as fact. Besides, I really wanted to write a story about magic. But the imagery would not leave me alone. And finally it hit me. There was going to be an end to oil. And when that happened, the world would need to find a new power source. And what would that power source be? Magic, of course. The rest of the story followed from there. Can I ask you a question? Sure! Send me some questions concerning A Ready Wit to shelbywit at hotmail dot com, and I'll stick 'em up here and answer them, just as soon as I know what ya'll want to know.
